so we have had the customary new year kick-off chat with the boss. all the right noises were made much head nodding and singular eye-brow raising to give the demeanour of one enamoured with the utterances of he who holds the key to big bonus and hefty pay increase...I hope and pray. I so need that right now.
but it was a better chat than I have had before with him and in all fairness there is a smattering more certainity around my job now than there was a year ago - then I did not know if I was Martha or Arthur - sorry I mean coming or going. I believe the worst of the crunch is over - people have to carry on living and something new will make the news now. Perhaps famous cricket victories and tenacious African dictators....I do not know.
I have vowed that this will be a good year and it will be. I return to school to finish off my proffessional qualification and get it over and done with - read long lonely nights of head cracking concept mastering etc. There is also the prospect of two trips into Europe to look forward to towards the end of the year. So should the doom threaten to overwhelm me I will look to the skies and imagine I am on that plane already...
one of the things I decided to do this year ( not a resolution ) was to restore myself to High School fitness levels....I know wishful thinking but the six-pack was really nice and the lithe physique a lady killer...so I have taken up basketball. So far quite fun and I reckon I wasted an opportunity to excel at this in my earlier years because I am quite good at it already....everyone believes I am having them on that I have never played competitively in my life...
so have you also any tete a tete with your boss? what are you looking forward to this year and are you taking up any new activities? Holler !!!
